Polperro Walking Tours is a brand new walking tour, which takes you through the centuries of history of this iconic Cornish fishing village.

Polperro Walking Tour offers you the opportunity to discover, or rediscover, the historical harbour town of Polperro as you walk from the Crumplehorn Inn & Mill to the harbour & narrow streets of the Warren.

Guided by Mark, with over 30 years of experience in tourism and hospitality, you will learn about Polperro’s rich history, hear tales of the characters from years long since past & stories of the smugglers & fishermen who called Polperro their home.

Lasting around 90 minutes, the walk takes place on pavements & even ground. There are plenty of spots to take a seat and rest a while, or take in the amazing vistas for photographs.

The Polperro Historic Tales Tour

From the site of the former Killigarth Manor Mill, today the Crumplehorn Inn & Mill, we walk through nearly 800 year’s of history. From humble beginnings as just a small inlet at the mouth of the River Pol, to a Village famed for fishing & smuggling; the journey through from past to present offers a great overview of Polperro.

We will learn more about Polperro’s rich history of art as we pass both the Polperro Arts Foundation and the Ebenezer Gallery & discover some great place names, like Fish Na Bridge & Little Laney.

The tour commences at 11am from just outside the Crumplehorn Inn & Mill (ideal for those arriving by bus or car).

The tour will have a maximum of 12 people, and the tour may be reserved exclusively. Suggest a minimum age of 12.

What to Bring

Sensible footwear, suitable clothing to suit the weather, a bottle of water, a camera… and a thirst for history!

Meeting Point

We will meet a few steps past the main entrance to the Crumplehorn Inn & Mill, 50 metres from the bus stop and the car park.

Parking

Polperro has only one car park, which is in private ownership. It is cash only (there are note changing machines) and charges are £7 for a minimum of 3 hours.

Train & Bus

Polperro is served by the Go Cornwall bus network and the  No 73/73a and the No 481 services alight just 50 metres from the starting point of the walks. Please catch the bus which will arrive in Polperro no later than 10.45 am
